EXSC 362-Kinesiology & Biomechanics of Sport & Exercise

Students will demonstrate how to apply physical laws to human performance.  Included physical laws deal with: Linear and angular motion, projectile motion, forces, impulse and momentum, fluid mechanics, and tissue mechanics.

Measurements: Many measurements can be taken in biomechanics. In this class, you will learn how to measure: Force, EMG signals, position, velocity, acceleration.

Principles: You will learn how describe motion, determine the forces causing motion and how various characteristics interact with each other leading to the overall effect on the body.

Calculations: Many characteristics of interest cannot be accurately measured with our current technology, thus we must calculate them from other measurements. Noisy signals can also create difficulty in obtaining accurate data. You will learn methods for processing data once is is collected or calculated to improve its accuracy.
